Ok it’s 18 days later and I’ve completely re-done this site. The original site was a group of pre-created search querries that presented ebay listings. These provided about 1-3% commissions. I’ve completely re-done it so that users are directed to a particular vendor, but if nothing for that vender is available then the user is taken to the old eBay type interface. This hybread appreach provides a much higher affliate commission when the same item is available. But when the item isn’t found the user is left with another source to look. No need for a “Sorry nothing is available” type of message. While a lower commission, it provides a cool service to the customer. Something I’ll be exploring further.
